Italian
Jewish cooking taught in London
By Jonny Paul in London
LONDON (EJP) ---A passion for cooking and tracing the traditions
and history of Italian food motivated Italian-born, UK-based
Silvia Nacamulli to set up ‘Cooking for the Soul’, a thriving
London-based business teaching Italian Jewish cooking.
"...Silvia, who is almost certainly Britain's only cookery
teacher specialising in the Jewish dishes of Italy, attributes her
passion for food to both her Jewish and Italian heritage - "a
double whammy" is how she describes it...."

Fantastico! was the assessment of La Cucina
Italiana, an Italian evening held by UJIA Young Leaderships
Think-tank committee.
65 guests aged 25-40 gathered at the Bevis Marks Restaurant to savour
the delights of a three-course Italian-style dinner and a talk on
Italian Jewish food and culture by Silvia Nacamulli. Born in Roma,
Silvia is an up and coming Italian Jewish cooking expert. She has
her own school called La Cucina di Silvia: Cooking for the
Soul, which she runs in varied venues including Divertimenti
in Marylebone." from www.ujia.org
"Italian-Jewish cooking may be one of the world's greatest
and most varied Kosher cuisines, but it's not one which features
on many of our menus. But now a young cook from Rome aims to put
that right. Silvia Nacamulli, an expert in Italian-Jewish cooking
based in London, is offering lessons in how to cook favourites of
the Italian-Jewish community, including artichokes cooked in the
Jewish style, and spinach with pine nuts and raisins. Details of
her school, La cucina di Silvia - Cooking for the soul, are on www.cookingforthesoul.com,

"Silvia is a first class chef. Whatever
she prepares will come out with a heavenly
taste. You might think that learning how
to cook pasta in a tomato sauce is basic
then think again Silvia
cooks it in a way that gives it the perfect
taste. I have attended 4 classes and learnt
over 15 dishes from Silvia, they all tasted
incredibly good." Dafna
"I was delighted by Silvia's professionalism coupled with
her personal friendly touch when teaching.....her cooking lessons
bring you to the distant past to the origins of each dish....incredibly
interesting." Luca
"Inviting Silvia to a cooking lesson is a truly indulgent
experience - the flavours, the learning experience and the fun atmosphere."
Jodi
"Not only is Silvia an incredible cook but she makes the art
of cooking truly inspirational and appetising. She actually makes
your mouth water while testing the ripeness of a raw vegetable.
Her teaching is a hands-on team effort with the added bonus of her
home-made bruschetta to devour while you work! Your reward at the
end is not only having learnt how to make first class Italian food
but an absolutely delicious dinner at the end." Amanda
"I really did enjoy it. Silvia took me through every aspect
of the cooking, explaining what was what and the history behind
each dish she was making. She showed me how to prepare all the food
and had all her equipment with her....bonus....less washing up!
She made it practical and easy and supplied me with a cooking book
of all the recipes we were making so I could refer to them as we
were cooking, which is now useful as I can still use it." Sarli
"...Cooking with Silvia was a very relaxed and enjoyable experience.
The class was really well devised and ran very smoothly. Everyone
had a chance to get involved and contribute to the preparation.
Not only did we get a little history of the cuisine, and lots of
useful cooking tips but we also got to eat a delicious meal at the
end! A terrific way to spend an evening." Andy
